Zmago Petrič's family's winery is located in Vipavska Dolina in Slovenia, and from the
beginning, they have worked organically and biodynamically, devoting their energies
to local grape varieties and respecting their natural environment.
The soil is a mixture of sand, sandstone, marl, limestone and clay from the Eocene Epoch. The decomposition of marl results in clay particles rich in mineral substances.
All of the vineyards lie on the steep southern slopes of the Vipava hills enabling good exposure to wind, high temperature fluctuations between day and night, and optimal exposure to sun.
In order to promote biodiversity and a healthy ecosystem, the family uses organic matter, compost and green manure, spraying with a combination of horn manure and flint.
Everything is hand-picked, naturally fermented and bottled unfiltered with minimal sulphur addition.
