Marta Ribera & Andres Carull are the driving forces behind Casa Balaguer.
The estate is divided into two Fincas, with two very distinctive terroirs.
Casa Balaguer near the city of Villeda at an altitude of 600m, where the red grapes are grown, and very old Moscatel vines on the Lagunas de La Mata, a stripe of sandy soil sandwiched between the Mediterranean Sea and a salty lagoon.
They took over from the legendary Rafa Bernabè, an iconic figure in the Iberian natural wine world, following his vision and bringing it to the next level: biodynamic practices, very limited use of SO2 and only is some of the wines, no filtration or clarification prior to bottling.
