This organic and biodynamic farm in Monferrato is the passion project of Deirdre O’Brien and Maurizio Caffer, who traded London for rural Piedmont nearly a decade ago and haven’t looked back.
In addition to producing organic fruit, veg and honey, Deirdre and Maurizio rejuvenated an old vineyard on the property and planted it to slarina, a nearly forgotten local grape.
They now have another vineyard of nebbiolo vines that are not producing fruit yet, but if the slarina is anything to go by, it’s going to be killer.
And not only are the wines amazing, but Deirdre is a native of Co. Offaly and dontcha know we love a good Irish connection.
