Over the years, Strass in the Kamptal has developed a reputation for being a pioneering winemaking region.
It is also home to Austria’s oldest winemaking establishments, one of which is the Weixelbaum winery.
Weingut Weixelbaum is managed by Gabi and Heinz Weixelbaum, the third generation of the family of the same name, with Heinz’s mother helping out in the vineyard.
Plentiful clay, loess and bedrock soils help create a distinctive Grüner Veltliner.
