DOMAINE PLOU & FILS TUFFEAU BRUT ROSE
Lightly sparkling elegant bubbles, aromas are a lot sweeter than the palate which is rather balanced and not too acidic. Red fruit flavour prominent with strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate and a bit of blackberry. Honestly reminded me of eating strawberry jelly straight out of the wrapper in aroma and taste! The memories came flooding back of my mother chasing me with a wooden spoon to melt the fucking jelly!
The Plou family has been making wine in the small village of Chargé in the Loire valley since 1508.
The family have added to their vineyards over the centuries and now own 75
hectares of vines.
The terroir is comprised of Tuffeau chalk from the Paris Basin with either clay-limestone or flint-clay subsoils.
The terraces on the banks of the Loire River, however,
are made up of sand and gravel.
